Big Block vs. Small Block Springs

Who has replaced their 3/4 ton front springs with big block springs to see how much the front end will come up? I want to raise the front of my small block truck a little...not much...just trying to get it level...ON THE CHEAP...LOL!

Re: Big Block vs. Small Block Springs

Can't speak to your question exactly but I put a BB in my truck with SB springs and then later put in the BB springs. Less than 1/2" change and I would have to believe that most of that was because of going from the old original springs to new springs.

I think the 3/4 springs and bb springs are the same or very close but you will prob gain some just replacing old with new.

Re: Big Block vs. Small Block Springs

I have 1 inch upper ball joint spacer installed, limiting straps, longer shock absorbers. and a little trimming of the crossmember to help with the upper control arm clearance.

I believe the spring rates are different between sbc and bbc springs. The spring rate in the bbc springs give you the lift.

Re: Big Block vs. Small Block Springs

Where did you get the upper ball joint spacer? That should add about 1" too.

Re: Big Block vs. Small Block Springs

The upper ball joint spacer does not add any lift on the truck. All it does is decrease the ball joint angle and makes it possible to align the front end.
