This is the only mod to the tailgate.

Excellent mod idea... one caveat...

I used to sell and install a LOT of alarms back in the 80's when Chevy did this on the newer tailgates. Customers had the same story... "I parked my truck for the night and the next morning the tailgait was gone"

Hey Kenneth, I'm not sure if it was in the 70's or 80's when they started it. Until 83 when dad bought the 84 truck all I knew about was our old 69.
