Question 1957 Ford 300 VIN location help

My friend has just purchased a 57 Ford 300 and we cant find the vin tag. I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me where the VIN tag should be located and if there is any other numbers like on the frame or engine so we can figure out if its a numbers matching car? Thanks

You might ask on www.inliners.org
Although, like this site, they're more partial to GM L6s, there are some Ford experts there.
There's also a Ford Six site: www.fordsix.com
