new truck
I found another one the old man and myself couldnt pass up. Its an 87 3/4 ton 4x4 plow truck. Use to plow gm dealership. Had a frame off 6-8 years ago with southern cab and box. Starting to come out in the odd place but still solid. Trucks been worked, but will clean the laneway just fine. Has 350 TBI, 4.10 gears, rebuild TH400, and quad shocks in the front.

Just for cleaning the laneway, may fix a couple things and get a set of plates for it.

Re: new truck
I think it will eventually see the road and become the new workhorse/dd. It will get used, maybe not right away due to other projects. It sure beats the walk behind snowblower, should of had one of these a long time ago.

Re: new truck
Took the box off it today to fix a fuel leak which was coming from the tank. Couldnt stand the smell of gas every time your near the truck. Going to clean the frame up, oil spray, and replace the rear shocks while the beds off. Polished all the rims today in the nice weather and inspected the brakes which are all good to go. Just needs some front end work due to pushing a plow all its life. Good thing parts are cheap for these trucks. Heres a picture of the polish job.

Re: new truck
Decided to fix the things needed for a safety, so this truck can be put on the road. Reasons for getting it on the road are: wasn't much to fix and need something bigger to haul loads and tow a new boat. Replaced ball joints on the drivers side, tie rods, and front axle u joints. Just need to fix the wipers, pass. side exhaust manifold, and get new tires mounted. Hopefully on the road by next week. Interior isn't too bad of shape, I've got a blue seat to put in to match the rest.

Re: new truck
Finally got it finished mainly to pull my boat and other trailers. Don't have to use a 1/2 ton anyway more for the heavy work.

Re: new truck
That's an awesome truck. Did you get it locally? I think I recognize it, if I'm not mistaken it used to drive by my house every once in a while, back in highschool when I would be waiting for the bus in the morning. Guy that always drove it wore a GM mechanic's uniform, guessing he worked at the dealership the truck used to plow?

Re: new truck
yea you gotter bang on, works for dealership. Use to live out in the country and had a need for the plow. Truck got to point where it needed some work and he had another vehicle for replacement, so it had to go.

Re: new truck
Truck was bought from dealership with plow or bought from dealership and had plow put on right away to plow bluewater bridge. Dealership took truck back 3 years later and kept it. The guy I bought it off kinda took it under his wing and then 7 years ago put in his name and restored it. Its been worked, but the frame is still very solid and thick. I'm sure it will serve its purpose.
