Question about a part name.

What is the nut called that holds the arm that goes transmission linkage to the shifter called. I cracked mine and I need to get new one.

Is this the nut that is on the transmission itself?

If it is then it is a 3/8 fine thread nut.

It's on top of bar that goes from trans up by master cylinder. It has a loop that bar goes though and when tighten the nut it hold the bar in place.

I don't know if it is called an adjuster or not but you use them to adjust the length of the shifter rods.

Do you just need the nut or do you need the whole piece? I think that nut is a lock nut but I'll have to check the manual when I get home.

You'd be best off goin to a junk yard, you'll probably never locate it on it's own.
Vans are a great place to look for it, they used that up untill 81/early 82.

If you only need the nut it is a 3/16-16 standard nut which would be available at your local hardware store.
