is this a good deal ? will it fit my 350 5.7 v8 79 scottsdale ?

I would have a hard time paying that much for a transmission without knowing the history of it. How do you know it is rebuilt? How do you know it works? If it were in the vehicle and you could drive it...different story. I would be cautious.

I personally have a hard time buying something unheard or tested. Only time I buy things unheard or untested is if its cheap. Try and find other transmissions forsale locally to compare prices. Yes, this will work with your 350, depending on the tailstock, it will work with your truck.

I had one rebuilt with a trans go kit for $390 and I paid $10 for the trans. You are better off having one rebuilt than buying from joe blow.

I agree with Damien on this one. I bought a TH350 from a local jewel yard for $40 and had it rebuilt with a warranty. Call some local tranny shops and ask how much they will charge for a rebuild. They will usually help you out.
