RTV sealant or not?

I need to remount my oil filter housing/mount back on my s-10 ( I know, but I need some help) I am wondering if I should use sealant on the gasket between the the mount and the block. It's a real sob to get at and has been leaking like crazy, got a new gasket but don't know if it goes in dry or what? Any ideas?

I had the smae problem with mine a few years ago, as do many S-10 (with 4.3 ans engine oil cooler) have had.
I put it in dry and torqued the heck out of it.
Next teh radiater will leak motor oil where the fitting goes in...mine is the upper one. I'm thinking of getting rid of the whole engine cooler all together.
