I just upgraded my brakes this weekend. I used the master cyl from a '70 Impala ($24) 60in pre-made brake line ($5) got brass brake adapters ($15 i think) and I'll tell you what! Stops SOOOO much better! If anyone is debating or holding off on doing this cause they're not sure, it is very much worth it! I was very impressed on how much easier and faster I can stop now.

what is the route path for dual brake lines ?

I followed the original single line straight down and along the back of the cross member to the other side where the front and rear line 'T' off each other. Plugged the hole in the 'T' fitting and used a union to mate the new line with the original line that runs to the back.

Are you still using drums all around? Will it still work good for discs? I my upgrade someday.

yep, I'm 4 wheel drum. Disc/drum and disc/disc setups will already use a dual line system so there would be no need for it in that case. In fact you do not want to use a drum/drum master cyl on a disc/drum or disc/disc system as it will most likely not create enough pressure to engage the discs. We'd call that 'your gonna die' brakes

I used on 60" line to tie into the rear line. It was a little long, the next size down in 51" which might be too short to give enough clearance to remove to oil pan in-car. I went with better safe than sorry. I used the original line for the front half.

I just got finished with my swap and I bled the living hell out of the system and have a low brake pedal. There is no air in the system at all. No leaks, nothing. What gives?
Also had to replace the passenger side brake hose. I'd like to know how long that bad boy had leaked lol

I ended up having to undo the hard line where it connects to the rear soft line and let the air out. just hooked a rubber hose to the end of the hard line and put the other end in a bottle. Pumped two times added fluid pumped two more and the hooked it back together and bleed as usual. My pedal does go low though, but I stop fine. Better than before.

I did that as well too. Once I bled from the union I was fine. Just a bit worried about the low pedal. I'll take it for a ride and see what happens

If you replaced the master cylinder also, that has to be bled first, usually in a vise. Then mount ,add new lines,a little coil in the brake lines will help relieve chassis movement, then bleed farthest line first.

I finished bleeding air out of my lines today. What a pain. I thought I had it all out........I guess not lol. Adjusted all brakes and nice improvement. It probably never stopped this good when it was new. I love it and recommend everyone to do this upgrade if they haven't already
