Question Will this canopy fit?

"White Fiberglass canopy top for Chevy K5 Blazer - $10 (Portland)" http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/pts/1119416539.html

I am really considering getting a canopy of some sort for my 1981 c10 , after I took a trip with 3 people and 2 dogs in the cab. Haha, and the glovebox wouldn't stay shut, so you can imagine how much fun THAT was.

Also, if this wouldn't fit - any other year/model Chevy or Fords that would???

Re: Will this canopy fit?

What you need for a pickup is a camper shell, not a hard top from a convertible type vehicle.

Re: Will this canopy fit?

OK Thanks, so Does the canopy have to be from a 81-87 for it to fit? That's my real question. Any other make/model/years that seem to be compatible or have worked for people in the past??

As long as the dimensions are the same then you should be fine, but you may find some tops are for specific vehicles, some arent. Measure the bed width over the top of the rails and have the sellers measure.
Yours seems to be a shortbed so you may have more trouble finding one as most seem to be for longbeds.

Yes! I've been looking. So I measured 78 Long by 72 Wide... generally it's been a pain in the ass!

you may be able to find a flat hard tonneau cover? I am not sure if that would fit your needs though. But its a thought.

Re: Will this canopy fit?

I'm emailing with this guy http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/1122148902.html

It's a perfect fit

I'm a little sad to be looking for a canopy, sort of takes away the 'trucky-ness'.

Well I hope you got it because that posting has been deleted from Craigslist.

Glad it worked out for you. Depending on the design they may not be the sportiest thing but they can come in handy, especially for larger items that you may not want to get wet. Also, i dont know if they still make them, but there was a "boot" that would go in place of the rear window and connect the cab to the camper so you could pass things through to the back or talk to the people in the back.. or let them have heat, etc.

That will be even harder to find.. I usually only see the stepside campers on the 88+ trucks and I think they kinda look goofy because they are narrow and then gets wider to meet with the cab.
