'67 C20 rear spider gears, San Diego

took the C20 to the hobby shop today..ends up I need to replace the rear differental/axle as to what the mechanics were saying..specifically the "spider gears" and they just told me it'd be a whole lot easier to find the complete rear axle/differential

anyone know of any places in San Diego where I could find such items?

leaf or coil?
You called any local junk yards? Thats the only place you'll find one, and since you are an unsubscribed member, no one is able to offer one to sell you...

leaf, the mechs told me to call the junkyards, but seeing as I got off of work and went directly to work on the truck and didn't get done till they're closed, I'll have to wait until tomorrow.
I did a little research so far on rear differentials for the truck but couldn't find much, or had just no luck. I think I am just better off just finding a whole replacement.
They told me to measure the axle when I go to replace that, any ideas/clues to how I go about doing this? I bought the truck to learn with and was aware of the maintenance I'd have to do so I'm just learning this all

Does it have a drop out third? If it does, it is pretty easy to change out the spider gears (or add a no-spin) if that is indeed what is wrong with your axle, or even just swap the entire third.
