Another Cab Swap Question

I did a search the other day and couldn't find an answer.

I am wondering if I will run into any problems swapping the cab from a 3/4 ton to a 1/2 ton frame? And what solutions there may be?

Re: Another Cab Swap Question

the only problems that arise are when you go from 2wd to 4wd with the floors and if you go from 73-80 and 81-87 with the mounts... you have to use the mounts compatible with the year of the frame and issues with the hood hinges , cowl and wipers other than that its direct swap

i beleve there were differences with cabs when it came to the bigger trucks tho which do not have the proper clearance for the gas tanks on a pickup and i mean the bigger trucks like the c50 and up

Re: Another Cab Swap Question

Thanks

Both cabs are 74s.
So I just use the body mounts for a 3/4 ton when I put the cab on?

Re: Another Cab Swap Question

I dont think you will have a problem it should all bolt up. The problem is when you start putting 73-80 cabs on 81-87 frames and vise versa. In your case I think the bushings will be the same as well as the cabs themselves.
