I did an enjoyable and worthwhile project this afternoon

I had reached a stopping point on the job I was working on, so I thought I would work on my own junk for a few hours.

I took an old set of door hinges and rebuilt them.

I took them completely apart, bead blasted everything, powdercoated the pieces in white to match my beater, then reassembled with new pins and bushings.

It's a real easy afternoon project that makes the old trucks so much nicer. Total cost was 20 dollars for the pins and bushings.

A word of warning though, it did take a good bit of persuasion from the old torch to get the old pins out. After bead blasting and detail work though, they go right back together without issue.

Regards,
Kevin

Looks great ! Did you find a good source for the hinge pins or did they need to be cut off ?, any kit I've gotten have pins that are too long, not big deal, just wondering.

Nope, still too long. I got them from my favorite vendor, Kenny's Trucks up in Tulsa Methlahoma. After assembly, I had to knock about 3/4 off an inch off of them.

You are much too kind. I have absolutely no social skills whatsoever. My niche is in the shop with my tools. Every job is a personal challenge to me to try and raise the bar higher (in my eyes).
