Cross shaft question
Well, after several years of tearing down, grinding and painting my 67 SS frame,I'm trying to put everything back together. I bought new lower control arm cross shafts and can't recall why there is a dimple in each shaft. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Cross shaft question
If you look where the cross shafts bolt to the crossmember. Where the cross shafts sits they're is a rivet in the little bracket they bolt to. They sit this way so the shaft won't move around. I hope this helps a little.

Re: Cross shaft question
Yep, as he said it, put it together and then install it and tighten the U bolts that holds it to the crossmember, then you can torq the ends on them as well.
