Best stop leak.
Whats the best stop leak that you guys have used and it worked? I've got a small leak but its enough to get oil everywhere, I've struck out on a couple of products. Whats the best you've used and it worked?

Re: Best stop leak.
If it was a water problem I would say some egg whites and if that didnt work fix it right. For a oil problem just track it down and fix it

Re: Best stop leak.
Oil stop leak products have agents that permeate/soften rubber and induce swelling. It is not discriminating and all gaskets will swell or soften up. You could probably use it in engines that are going to be dismantled or repaired anyway but need a quick fix. I wouldn't use it on my daily driver or one that has recently been rebuilt.
There is a possibility that it will work but basically it's still a band-aid. Something to consider is that it could also make it worse and you'd still have the chemical in all of the other gaskets. |

Re: Best stop leak.
Check your torque specs. Overtightening the bolts will often cause this problem.
