Will a 72 chassis mount on a 86 frame?

I bought a 86swb c10 and wanted to know if I could mount my 72 body on this swb frame. I needed some parts off it and for $300 bucks I could not complain. Now I'm just trying to see if this frame would work as well.

Thanks guys

No tonly will it not work, but if it would, there is no real advantage (assuming your 72 frame is in good shape).

You'd have to modify the wheel base, then you'd have to make a custom lift kit for the cab and front clip to raise the front half to the height of the bed.
It would look retarded on a 2 wheel drive.
Plus you'd be getting rid of an awesome rear suspention.

Couldn't agree more. The 72 chassis is great. I would rather have the coils than leafs any day.

Re: Will a 72 chassis mount on a 86 frame?

I read the title and thought,"Huh?"
I pictured two frames/chassis stacked.
You do know frame and chassis are the same, right?
So,you want a short frame and your`72 is long? And the later rame is short? There`s a frame shortening thread in FAQs.
