Re: what did you get done 4/19/09
I bought a used bumper from CL to replace the dreaded cowboy bumper my truck has now. I also went to Sam's and had new tires put on the rally wheels i bought last weekend and started taking off the air pump garbage this afternoon.

Re: what did you get done 4/19/09
Went to a cruise in last night and saw a sweet 79 Big 10 for sale. It's a very clean nice truck, seems high to me.
Finally forced myself to install the rear bags on the Heap. Pulled it in the garage at 700 and pulled it out at 600. I'll post "bag" pics later.

Re: what did you get done 4/19/09
That truck is clean. Not $14,500 clean. I spent Saturday morning coaching T-ball. Fun, fun , fun. Little people make me laugh. Went to look at a Suburban I found on craigslist after church Sunday. It didn't have what I needed. No luck.

Re: what did you get done 4/19/09
Got the new cast aluminum valve covers put on to replace the leaky, warped stamped steel ones. So far, the new roller motor runs great. Now I gotta get the air cleaner housing either painted or powdercoated.

Re: what did you get done 4/19/09
Went to a couple car shows, Taco casa Tuesday, McDonald Thursday, and Hooters Today, Friday tried to align my truck since no where locally will do it, they all say it's to low and won't drive up on our machine, Saturday replaced a broke shock mount, and Today I figured out a little more what I'm going to do under the hood on my truck

Re: what did you get done 4/19/09
Drove my 84 (with trailer) 5 hours to and from Salisbury for the Spring NC/SC meet. Only used half a tank of fuel(8 gal)! The trip did my 6.2 some real good. Now when I floor it, it is black smoke not white, it is finally a healthier diesel. Blowing coal Baby!

Re: what did you get done 4/19/09
I worked my ass off then got crap from my boss for requesting 3 weekends in 2 months off. In about 8 hours, I'm going to let him know that I did not appreciate his comments at all.

Re: what did you get done 4/19/09
Got the brakes to stop pulling right on the 87 diesel. HINT - if it pulls after calipers and pads on both sides, replace the hose on the side away from the pull. Noticed it started easier since the weather is warm and the driving around has charged up the batteries. Changed the oil - 7 quarts. ouch! greased it. Looks like a suspension rebuild would be in order but I'll run it this year. Oh, and built a raised garden (about 40 x 20 2' high).

I was co-best man in one of my best friends' wedding on Saturday. It was a lot better that I thought it was going to be.

Re: what did you get done 4/19/09
Ordered a new rear bumper for the 79 and pulled the old one off. Had to break one bolt but the other 3 came loose with impact and wrench.

A little backyard upholstery work. Covered the headliner pad for the '73. Also painted the air cleaner top for my woman's '65.

Spent all weekend pulling dent, filling trim holes and stripping paint from the Impala....
I'm hoping I can make enough progress to start shooting primer later this week. |

Re: what did you get done 4/19/09
about 3 month ago I started haven issuse with the way my truck was running so I parked it untill I had some time to get serious about working on it. so saturday was the day and after alittle investigating and a lot of remors I've got the engine half tore down to put a new cam in it and figure out why I have a cam going flat with 30k on it
I could of had it put back together by sunday night but I procrastinated so much on pulling the core support out so I could get the cam out

Re: what did you get done 4/19/09
I installed some reworked heads on my cop car. Cleaned up the Charger for a show this weekend. Got some ideas on what I'm going to do with my truck this summer. Now I'm at work making an Excel spreadsheet budgeting the costs and timeframe.

Re: what did you get done 4/19/09
I spent Saturday working on my heater and ac. I replaced the defrost vents, center vent, all hoses, cables etc. While i was at it i put a new ashtray in. After my bro in law pulled my fat azz out from under the dash for the 300th time, i called it a day.

Re: what did you get done 4/19/09
Ahhhh the joys of being a full time student. I got to read about 400 pages of text for a few classes, took a few practice tests, and did not get enough sleep. Now what I wanted to do was put the new spindles and springs on my 85, because the neighbors are looking at me funny with this sitting in my driveway. But I get a day off next week and I think I will try to work on the truck.

Re: what did you get done 4/19/09
Friday I picked up a 6.2L diesel with the complete wiring harness (minus headlights) from a CUCV so I can convert my 1985 Camo K5 to diesel power.
Saturday I spend reorganizing the garage and unloading the 6.2L from the Crew Cab.
