Interior Pics Please
I would like to please see some examples of grey, charcoal black dyed, tweed any type of material as long as it any combination or single color. I am planning to repaint my 87 silverado that is the red on red on red combo. I inherited this from my grandfather who passed away a couple years ago and have saved some money for a complete color change and repaint. Any pics would be appreciated but am really looking for these colors. I did find one posting but most the pics were red x . Thanks very much

Re: Interior Pics Please
were those panels originally black? Ive been looking on here and have seen the dye/painted panels and been going back and forth on whether to buy new (mine are red) or attempt a color change

Interior Pics Please
Here are some from my files. I was thinking about using tweed for the interior for a while (but not with yellow), but went in another direction. It's still kinda cool... the billet pieces sort of break things up as well...

Re: Interior Pics Please
The door panels were light grey. All the other parts where charcoal grey. I used SEM Landau black. It doesn't have a gloss finish gust a nice shine to it. The better you prep the parts the better they come out.

Interior Pics Please
OK - I'm going to date myself here... about 15 to 20 years ago, tweed seats & interiors were pretty popular, especially among the street rod crowd. I'm seeing more older vehicles with tweed interiors, especially older trucks. That's because the material is still pretty cheap, is easy to work with & can be glued to many different interior surfaces.
I don't think the process has changed much, but back then, people would just spray glue onto which-ever panels & then work the pre-measured & cut tweed material onto the panel making sure it was all smooth etc. Granted, the door panels, dashpad, or whatever was always off the vehicle, then when it was dry, would be put back on. If you pick up a book on how to customize a car interior, the process is usually in there... even adding flames to it if you want like the pics below. |

Interior Pics Please
Footnote to above:
- The yellow is a "love it or not crazy about it"... - I'm not diggin' the Auto Mater gauges with the stock ones... pick one & go with it for the entire motif. - I really like the center console! - I would love to know how the speaker panels were put onto the doors. I've seen kick panels like these, but never on the doors. Last edited by strick9c10; 04-24-2009 at 08:25 PM. |

Re: Interior Pics Please
'63-'74-'83 Chevy Silverado (Many parts....basically an '83). Don't know if the paint is factory red...It's a repaint and good enough for me. I put monochrome interior...Black, original gray, chrome and aluminum, gray Blazer back seats...Like I said, "daily driver" so it works for me. I put the carpet in today (Friday, 4/24).....The kit was for a high tunnel...I doidn't know that so I had to improvise....
