Headliner suggestions
Need to replace headliner panels in 70 Suburban. Have all the original sections to use as templates and all the hardware. Any suggestions on where to find replacement material or other options from board vendors? How about some of these replacement kits that are at places like American Classics? Thanks

Re: Headliner suggestions
I think there is a thread on headliners you can find on here.
But, since you asked: 1. Use original cardboard if still in good shape and use some spray on trim adhesive and put some headliner material on it, then reinstall. Healdiner materila can be found at most fabric stoores. 2. If original cardboard is not in good shape, go out and find some big ole vote for me sign, stuff out there now is corrugated plastic, you should be able to cut it and attach the headliner material to it as well 3. Older cars used material suspended from bows, if you know somebody that can sew this should be pretty cool. I think someone has done it already to a burb. 4. How about a thin veneer? 5. I think a few people purchased some thin plastic or fiberglass panels from home depot and painted them. 6. How do you feel about shag carpet and crushed velvet? Disco ball? Anyway, enough of my ramblings, do a search on headliners and I bet you find it.

Re: Headliner suggestions
Since no one found you that thread yet:
1. ... and LHM didn't like the disc ball thing, how about this, you collect up like a thousand mellow yellow cans, cut the tops and bottoms off so they lay flat. Then hot glue them to the inside of the roof? Then instead of a disco ball you get one of those rotating mood light things to shine up on the inside of the roof. I think this would be a very nice effect. If you feel lazy, you could get a roll of aluminum flashing and draw designs on it. 2. Are you a hunter? If not pelts are relatively cheap on ebay. You can get tanned deer skins or ??? on ebay relatively cheap. You could modify the fabric and bow design to use the tanned deer hide and have the look of leather at a fraction of the cost. You could prob modify any of the ideas to use pelts or hides. Wouldn't it be nice to look up at furry roof everyday. Very warm and cozy feeling. I'll keep the armidillo hat on to help me think of ideas for you until someone finds you that thread.

Re: Headliner suggestions
I always thought the headliner in the "Cash Cab" would be *****en to sport in the burb!
Or you could do what I saw in a burb that was in a bone yard, that the whole headliner was nothin but centerfold posters! (No pun intended). ![]()

Here's a link:
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ight=headliner OR try using the "search" feature in the top right side of the suburban section. |

Re: Headliner suggestions
I am more interested in the plastoc bows that retain the headliner material... A couple of mine are broken in a couple of areas.
