waterpump issue!
I got my new procomp waterpump today, only to find out i dont think i can use it..
![]() I was sure we needed a short for our truck, coming from the original 307.. but the new one is to short.. ![]() also where the mounts for the power steering, and alternator, are not there... ![]() ![]() so now what should i do?? |

Also when i checked to line up the holes, it hits the timing chain cover before touching??
I went out and measured the old one is just under 7" the new one is 5 5/8" i guess i do have a long water pump... Last edited by bmrrwolfe; 04-22-2009 at 03:30 PM. |

Heres the diff. The long pump has alt. on pass. side.

Well supposedly the 307 was original to the 1970 truck, wouldn't it typically have a short water pump??
humm.. maybe my motor is not original. |

well i got a new LONG water pump ordered, hopefully i will be getting quickly, so i finish getting my motor together!!
