Leaking from carb fuel filter

So I changed the fuel filter the other day in my brother's 86 GMC Sierra with a 350 and a 4 barrel carb. Ever since then, it's got a pretty good leak coming from the fuel filter connection (The big connection that goes to the carb, not the small connection that goes to the big connection)

Did I lose a rubber washer or something when I took it all apart? I've verified that it's screwed on straight and that it is screwed on tight, but it's still leaking around the threads. Not sure what to do next, since I'm not sure what the problem is.

Do the auto parts stores sell the metal piece that the fuel filter sits in and connects to the carb?

Thanks in advance...

More than likely there was some sort of a gasket under that fitting and you will need to remove it and go to any auto parts store with that fitting and get a new one also find out what mfg made the carb.

Re: Leaking from carb fuel filter

there is usually a nylon washer kinda thing and usually white in color that goes between the carb and the filter fitting. If this is missing it will leak and if this is screwed in crooked it will leak they used to sell them in HELP in the auto parts store

Aha...That white nylon washer is what's missing. I saw it on the ground after I changed it out, but I thought it was just one of the random pieces of crap lying around out there. I'll go try to find it.

If I can't find it, I sure hope the auto parts store has one..

Re: Leaking from carb fuel filter

I actually just got finished fixing it. Found the washer sitting on top of the tool box. No leak anymore

Thanks for your help.
