This is what this board is about
This is what this board is all about. I had the pleasure of dealing with another board member, buying some ever so wanted and very popular parts. The fellow board member is Charlie Colman in Co. and the parts are a true 72 truck Tilt and the whole power streeting set up (less box) for a big block remote reservoir, pump, brackets ect ect, all for a more than fair price of $275 including shipping to Ca. This is what this board is about, one board member helping another with parts and information wanted or needed at fair and resonable prices.

Another instance of what this Board is about:
fellow board member Sakohntr traveling into Nevada to pick up a 72 8ft box for me. already loaded, through the mountains from AZ, only to spend 3hrs taking it apart just so it would fit, and all he would accept from me is probably about what it cost him in gas to get through the mountains, then he delivered it to Kansas city, where Another fellow board member, Teeitup, offered to keep it until I could come get it. FYI~ I have never met either of these guys, but am looking forward to it. Here's to Sakohntr & Teeitup!! Cant say Thanks enough guys!

yeah-- what they all said.
i've had the pleasure of dealing with steve a couple of times, he only lives a few miles from me. i've dealt with bruce (sakohunter) but never met him in person. some real stand up people on here. a great place to find what you need, whether it's parts and/or information. everyone deserves a collective pat on the back, keep up the good work.

lol Randy!
I have to agree with the whole thread...many many awsome ppl on here. Not only are the prices fair on the parts board, but there are pleny of people who are willing to toss a small part at some one on the "You owe me one" theory. (I do it too...but have a very small invintory) This it THE board...I belong to quite a few...but this is the only one I tell ppl about. |

Nothing but support from me
I am new to this board and have already got some great advice/tech info. A board just like this helped me source all the parts I needed to build a '94 DGGM LT1 B-body for my wife. This board is proving its worth while I stack left over nickels for my low-buck truck. The combined experience of the members on this board should keep me clear of some stupid/expensive mistakes.
Thanks to all Scott........... |

As a new member I have to agree with you all, the replies to questions have already helped me out and I haven't even asked any yet. I will be posting parts for sale shortly for the first time, I hope I get it right. Keep up the Chevy talk, I love it.

I also have to agree with everyone. I belong to several boards like this one, but I always seem to be on this one. As the others said, a collective pat on the back to everyone here .

Thats what makes this board so important. Most people in other circles have no use for our spare parts and if you aren't on the board and in contact with other 67-72 owners lots of those spare parts end up on the scrap pile. Its nice to know those parts are going to be kept in circulation to keep our trucks running.
I'd also like to add something about the generosity I've seen from board members to others. I've seen so much stuff that has been given away. I guess just knowing that items will get a good home and be useful to others in need is payment enough.

You know, Southpa's right, the generosity is fantastic with this group. I'm on a board just like this one for 55-57 Chevys. All those people can recommend for parts are so expensive or aftermarket. It's like they have nothing else to do with their money. Sure, the aftermarket parts are sometimes needed, but not if someone has something laying around wasting away. It really bugs me sometimes. Some of us have to have our hobbies on a budget as we have a family to support. It's good to see a group of people that don't mind helping out, instead of trying to make a buck off of the people that are interested in the same type of vehicles they are.
On my soap box.

Oh there are some great people on here thats for sure! I never would have gotten my truck shipped here if it wasn't for CoryM who took the time out of his day to jerry-rig the 3 speed column so that the shipping company could drive it. Phewww, for a second there i thought i was going to have to fly out there and do it myself. Thanks for saving my wallet and my truck!!! I owe you!

I have bought and sold many things on this board and have only been burned once. I always look here first to try and buy/sell. I would much rather give my money to somebody who I know is going to turn around and put that money back into his/her truck.

I'm always so impressed with this board and all I've learned from it. We definitely have some great members who will go all out for each other. One member, Blue66, gave me an SM465 for just actual shipping charges, he even drove it about 45 miles to a shipping dock for me. Didn't want a penny in return for his time or effort. Blazerman gave me some overload leaves for my front springs, didn't want a dime. Blazerboy found me the 89 wrecked truck that had the 454 in it, helped me drag it home and has helped me do engine work - all for nothing. MikeC has given me tons of advice regarding building up the 454.
I would be scratching my head with a very boring truck without this board! I can't think the above members and all the others enough for all the advice and assitance.

I have to say the same. Lost Wages was kind enough to help me out on my truck by letting me use his shop and sandblaster, welder, etc. etc. I only have to put up with his constant verbal abuse, body oders, and he introduces me to his friends as "the guy he met on the internet." Come to think of it, I'm a little freaked out now!!! LOL
In all seriousness, without his help I would have spent much more than I have and not been able to get as far as I have with the truck. Wes has also helped me out on a couple of occasions with parts I couldn't find.
