Smile My Truck

This was my Dad's truck he bought new May 11, 1968 (my birthday). He is gone now, but the truck will always be in the family. I just finished the restoration of the truck (nearly). It was still wearing it's original paint. The only rust was the rockers, where they connect with the floor. I am building an original looking big block to put in it soon.

Re: My Truck

I don't think that is factory air. Notice it has vents, but looks like a heater control rather than an A/C controller. I'm betting Vintage Air retrofit with the vents.

Re: My Truck

Beautiful truck! Glad to see another kept in the family. The only things I see that it needs is the grill area of the fenders painted white and a rear sport bumper.

Beautiful truck! If that bumper has the dealership stamped on from where your dad bought it ...I would leave like it is. Perfect in my book. And welcome from Ft. Worth

I bet your pops would be very proud as well!!

As mentioned by another member above the bumper was actually a dealer add on and is stamped with the dealership name/city. If it were mine the bumper would stay even though I prefer the sport bumper look.

Absolutely beautiful truck!!!!!! It also looks like a not to distant cousin to my '69.

What did the truck come with originally, engine wise? I'm also loving the interior, it's a color you normally don't see much of. I am fortunate to have the same color interior as your truck.

Re: My Truck

Very nice truck. It reminds me of one that my Dad use to own. These pics are from June 1969.(me & my sister) I wish the old truck was still around, but my Dad sold it back in the 70s and the new owner wrecked it.
