Question about e-bay reserves on trucks

If you are selling a truck on e-bay, do you let anyone know what your reserve is?
I've had people make offers, and I've been tempted to ask about specific reserves, but never have. If I tell my reserve will it negatively affect the auction?

If someone asks? I tell them, I am trying to sell not keep so I will tell you how much I want and they either meet the reserve or not...

I have asked before to see if I was even in the ballpark. If it is a car/truck that I am serious about, I might want to take a look before or move some funds. If I think the reserve is way too high, I wont even bother bidding. Sometimes it hard to estimate when the opening bid is $1.00! Coversely I would hate finding out that a reserve was a few more dollars that I would have spent had I known (or if I was a seller - knowing that a few dollars would have been the difference in the sale).
The whole point of the auction is that the seller is trying to get the highest bid and the buyer is trying to buy at lowest price! (Go figure)
At long as you would be happy with the reserve, why not say. Anyone who is serious about buying will know that they will need to offer over the reserve to win the bid.

I decided to tell my reserve. I found similar advice on other forums to support that decision. I too want to sell, not keep. This is the first vehicle I've sold that was only an investment, and not a former daily driver.
In the past I haven't used a reserve. I just couldn't resist this time. The market is to unpredictable.

Most of the time i just tell in the auction what my reserve is.

I personally email sellers and ask what the reserve is. I tell them i dont want to bid and waste their time, or mine if i cant afford it.

Sometimes they tell you, sometimes they say, Just bid on it.

Screw that. Just tell me already.
