more carb questions

so, in a past post. I said I got a "new" carb. well, I have some questions about the "new" carb. is this a manual choke carb? pic and video below. there is a vaccume port just to the right and on the throttle plate. what would that go to?

thanks, as much as I would love to. but getting a new carb is a definite no. money is only coming in once a week from UI. so I am going on the cheep here. hence, why I got a really good looking/shape qjet for 30 buck. it looks like it was re-built fairly recently. I just need to get her hooked up. but I will try asking one of the mods to move it. thank you for your suggestions and I will look at that site with the manuals! Thank you again! Matt

Re: more carb questions

It doesn't look like it's off of any 73 up truck, that throttle bracket looks strange. It prob used a bi-metal spring on the intake to work the the choke.

Re: more carb questions

ok, so I went out and looked at the part number. and if I did my looking up right. it is a 1969 4bbl federal standard Chevy made for a Auto trans. it is 702902, so I downloaded the manual for a 1969 Chevy Carb and by what I can tell that it is the spring type choke. but, the picture doesn't quite look right. I'll keep learning, looking. Any more info from anyone would help alot. Maybe I can hook up the cable for the choke right up to somewhere and make it work like that?? I dont know.

Re: more carb questions

Yeah I would try to make a choke cable work, because unless you have that year range intake to go with that carb it would be rigged anyway.
The manual should tell you how to hook up the vac ports.
