Adjustable Pan Hard Bar Question
Guys,
It has been a while since I posted. Been working on the 67 C10 stepside. It has a nine inch rearend that required the housing to be replaced. When my brother originally got the rear end shortened, the left tube was out of round. Also the end of the housing on the left side was not welded on correctly. Which meant that the bolts that hold the axle in on the drivers side were out of proportion with the right side. The axle on the left side started to bind which meant it housing needed replaced. the internals are ok. With that being said, While trying to adjust the side to side action, I now see that the original pan hard bar is a inch too short. It appears the people that shortened the F150 axle housing didn't get it quite right. My dilema is that I need to find a panhard bar that is approximately 28.5 inches wide vice the 27.5 inch one I have now. I figure that with the rear end hanging loose, it is exactly two inches to the right. The pan hard bar is one inch too short. If I obtain a one inch longer pan hard bar (adjustable of course) that I should be able to adjust the axle one inch to the left. Then tighten everything down. Sorry for the rambling but I have been working on this frickin thing for going on three weekends and I am ticked off. Thanks for listening to my rambling. Kerry

Re: Adjustable Pan Hard Bar Question
I saw that. The mount for mine is on the right side on top of the axle housing about half way between the differential and the right wheel. How does that mount?
Thanks, Kerry

Re: Adjustable Pan Hard Bar Question
I dont have a picture, but I have a 9". I use the adjustable track bar from Early Classic Enterprises... it comes with the mount, which bolts on to the passenger side trailing arm. Id just get that and be done with it.

Re: Adjustable Pan Hard Bar Question
Does anyone know where I can just buy the ends that are adjustable? I just need one or the other that can screw into the panhard bar I have. I have 1 1/2" ends now. I need at least one 2 1/2" end.
Thanks again, Kerry

Re: Adjustable Pan Hard Bar Question
If you know the length you need, just cut and weld as needed to arrive at the desired length.

Re: Adjustable Pan Hard Bar Question
Also do all your measuring at ride height, The arc of the bar will change as you lift or lower the rearend.
