63 gmc in san diego scrapyard

Ecology Auto, the mixed yard up on the hill, for those that know the area.

I went there today for a quick look and there is a 1963 GMC long bed (Someone wrote 63 on the windshield so I am not 100% certain but it looks right for the year)

Has some sort of v8, mostly complete.

Power brake system, looks all complete.

leaf springs, so I am guessing it's 3/4 ton

The interior is stripped but bound to be something on there worthwhile.

I took the heater out for my 1961 C10, but after I got I home it is a little different setup so I will prob start a classifed for that.

was only able to get a single picture before my phone dies.

Most 1/2 ton GMC's were leaf spring trucks.

Are you sure that engine has eight spark plugs? Because if it does, that is very well a 637 CI GMC V-8 and you should definitely grab that! RARE!

I agree very rare....
the size of the v6 looks like a v8 if you just glance at it.
did you just buy the heater or did you buy the whole truck?

What is that canister mounted on the drivers side inner fendor??

I just grabbed the heater. That cannister is a power brake setup. Looks stock.

I did not examine the engine in detail except to notice that it was not an inline 6 and it filled the compartment. I suppose it could be a v 6.

I can go back and look again next weekend
