Re: speaker wires
My 86 has a speaker grille for the center aswell but it does not have a speaker in it, so just get under the dash and shine a flashlight in it to see if you have one.....I have the same set up as yours.

Re: speaker wires
I believe the middle speak is for lowest models with only mono. My 82 Silverado had the 4 corner speakers and no middle dash speaker.

Re: speaker wires
Yeah most trucks didn't have the middle speaker wired up. Should be easy enough to run wires and put one in there though. How it is wired up depends on your stereo. You may contact the place where you bought the stereo from and ask them which wiring setup would give you the best sound. Since most stereos are set up for left and right, not many have a wire for the center. You may just hook up the center speaker with either the left or right dash speaker.

Re: speaker wires
I would just splice it into the right speaker.. After all when you are sitting in the truck it is still on your right.

Re: speaker wires
me i would just put 2 speakers in there so you can split the driver from the passenger. just cut a peace of plexy glass the diameter of the hole and then mount 2 speakers in that and set it up for right and left so that the right side is closer to you and so forth just my .02... I'm going to do this to my truck i'll let you know how it sounds lol....

Re: speaker wires
why would you want to mess up your seperation by putting a mono speaker in the center of the cab anyways?....
more speakers doesn't mean better
