P s pump question & help

P S BELT SQUEALS > CAN'T GET IT TIGHT ENOUGH > IT SEEMS IT IS MISSING A LOWER BRACKET WHERE IT WILL SLIDE UP & back to tighten . Does there suppose to be 2 brackets foe the p s pump . Ionly have one & there is a empty bolt hole underneath . Just seems something else should be there to stabilize the pump & enable it to be tightened like it should be
Any help appreciated

some one else put it on when engine was rebuilt > suspect they didn't bother to hook everything up properly.

Re: P s pump question & help

that sucks!
i had that same issue but the PO never re aligned everythign so my ps was liek 1/4in occ all the time and squealed..
the bottom bolt on your ps pump should also be a slider i just peiced mine together with a few washers and etc.. to make it work..
also to torgue the ps pump try not to pry it witha breaker it'll crack the resovoir (well i did)
instead use a crecent wrench and use the bracket itself...
good luck and i hope this was useful

Re: P s pump question & help

year?pics?I know mine squeals every now and again, but it's because the pump is misaligned as was mentioned above.Just need to add a bigger spacer between the bracket and the head on mine.
