window and track question -

Does anyone know where the window is supposed to be postioned in the base? When I took them out, they were in a little different position on both sides, but there was no felts left, so it didn't matter. Now that everything is gonna be good and tight, I need to know where it's suppose to be. Do you just center it, similar to my picture?

I'm thinking that if I center it I should be O.K.. I just don't want to get it together and find that the window is too far one way or the other.

Re: window and track question -

Are you putting the original glass back in? If so, what you have marked should work. I used replacement glass from Brothers. Drivers side went in fine. Passenger side glass shape was a little off. I wound up notching the bracket that holds the inner and outer door skins together, in order to get the glass in. Only took 1/4" notch but it wouldn't go back in the track without it. Trial fitting is the key. Keep adjusting til you get it right.

Sorry to hijack but I have a question that pertains to this. What goes in between the glass and the metal bracket? Is it glued in or what?

There is a piece a rubber-like material that you can get at an auto glass shop - they have different thicknesses, and if you have a piece of the old one, take it down with you to get the right one.
