Blazer Price guide

Hey everyone,
I'm looking into buying a 67-72 Chevy 4x4 blazer/jimmy, and I don't want to go pay a fortune for something that inst worth it. So my question is what should you expect to pay, for what conditions? Like how much for a stock rust free body, or how much if the rockers just need replacing or if they need a bit of floor work as well. Any info is appreciated....

Re: Blazer Price guide

Good question. How hot/humid does it get where you live? Def try to get a factory a/c Blazer. It's just worth it. Looking back on my purchase as a reference I would expect to pay between $2,500 and $4,500 for a stocker in good running condition, with a/c of course. Check out my progress on "my build story and i'm sticking to it" thread. This is just my opinion. Hope it helps. Later, Mario.

Re: Blazer Price guide

Prices are all over the place and it depends on location and most importantly body condition. There are some runners for sale near me for 2200 and there are some nice ones that are 7500-12000....all depends on options, condition, etc. If you can do a little rust repair, look for one with a good windshield frame that needs some rocker/floor work and you probably can find one in the 2000-4000 range if you look long enough....but the cheaper ones go FAST!

Re: Blazer Price guide

I got my 69 for $1500.00 here in Ohio that is a very good price It needs both rockers replaced and has no options but that don't mater if you don't plane on driving it right away it isnt hard to add them. You my pay a lot more for one with options and get a rust out one. Remember you can always add the options as you go and have less bondo in it. You don't need A/C that is why the top comes off. I have A/C in my jimmy and never charged it up and I never put the top on.

Re: Blazer Price guide

Price guides are not a relevant source for pricing. They are just some jack nuts opinion. I can tell you that the values were higher a decade ago when "Truckin" was the thing to do. I'm actually amazed at some of the LOW prices I see now. According to the current Blazer values; My truck is worth way less now then when I bought it. That's nonsense to me.
Did I spend to much? Not at the time, I paid fair market value. Would I pay that much for it now? Probably. It's not like they are a dime a dozen. Find the cleanest one you can find, spend a little more for it. You won't have any regrets. JMHO.

Re: Blazer Price guide

The best price guide is to see what is out there. If you're willing to travel you'll probably find a better deal. California, AZ, NV, etc usually all have a few for sale with minimal rust. There seems to be quite a few for sale in the Seattle area at any given time.

http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/cto/1144599199.html (They had some other pictures post of this one. It looked like it had some issues so I'd look it over closely and see if you can get the price knocked down $1,000 or so)

http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/cto/1139102798.html (nice truck - it's been for sale for at least 3 years. I'd guess the 6cyl is what prevents it from selling.)

Re: Blazer Price guide

I definitely agree about the AC thing but that's only cuz I live in San Antonio, TX. Mine didn't have AC but i'm adding it now. Once the AC is done i'm never taking the top off again unless i'm sitting at a show or something or maybe at the beach, it's just too damn hot without it.

Back to subject, I paid 2700 for mine with hardly any options but it ran. It didn't run well but it ran. Mine needs rockers and some other small things but the windshield frame is almost perfect as well as the rest of the tub.

Re: Blazer Price guide

I have enough projects right now that need a ton of body work, I dont really want anything excessive in the rust category. I just want it to run, and drive. I dont mind paying more for rust free or even traveling far for that matter. In the next two months I should be able to afford the price range I'm going for, then the real hunt begins.

I agree with Gary 70 Jimmy, options are less desirable to me than a sound body. I live in British Colombia, Canada so the heat never gets to extreme here, and I wont be stuck in traffic so topless is the way to go for me
