Best Handling for my 72 2wd Jimmy?

Hey guys,

This is my first real post and I have a question.

I have a 72 GMC Jimmy with a Belltech 2/4 Drop, with whatever springs and shocks they included.

It handles oookay, but what are some things I can do to make the truck more agile (Improve Cornering, decrease body roll etc)?

Well if you dont have any anti sway bars, I would start there. A front and rear bar will give you a lot of improvement.

What do you have for tires, wheels, shocks, sway bars? These all have a significant impact on handling.

Re: Best Handling for my 72 2wd Jimmy?

I have 20 inch rims with decently wide tires(295/55) and a sway bar on the front but not the back.
Should I go to heavy duty front swaybar even?

Re: Best Handling for my 72 2wd Jimmy?

I see CPP has a quick ratio gear box. Is that what yall are running or no?
If not what do yoiu recommend? I also have a smaller then stock steering wheel.

Also im thinking about getting some CPP rear heavy duty springs because my belltechs are sagging, and maybe going with the Doetsch Gas shocks as an up-grade.

What do yal think?

upgrade your sway bar and add a rear sway bar, it will make a huge difference. There is a good thread on installing a rear sway bar from a Camaro, do a search.
