A Recent thread about dash lights made me decide to check my fiber optic cable. It's connected at both ends and the dash light that feeds it works, but the light is not getting through to the indicator. What makes these things fail, and how hard are they to replace?

They fiber on the inside can break, they are very simple to change, one side goes up to the dash light, then runs down the bottom of the steering wheel, and up through the indicator, just take the screw off the indicator to see it. I have no idea where you would get it though?

Had to wait til after dark, but I see that it does just barely work. Not enough to do any good. I'll have to replace it. Brothers and Ecklers both sell them so I'll add it to the list

and pick one up when I have an extra $20.

junk yard vans (key in the dash) has the same piece, only a little longer.
if a junk yard wants more than 5 bucks, they need shot.

Things get messy if you can't stay inside the lines."
