Old school round tube front bumpers
The chrome bumper on my '86 1 ton GMC is pretty bent up and I'm thinkin' about replacing it with a twin tube 3 in. round tube bumper. something like the old "house of steel" style. anybody know a current manf. That still makes this '70's style bumper/brush guard? Thanks, Paul

Re: Old school round tube front bumpers
Hey 84LWB, that's eggzackery the bumper I'm looking for, the one I had on my 77 'burb got tabs welded to the bottom tube for driving and fog lights. Thats the look I'm trying to replicate on my '86 bobtail tow rig. Now i just gotta find one. Paul

Re: Old school round tube front bumpers
I'm bringing this one back from the dead... I've had no luck finding a source for this bumper. Lot's of places make this style for jeeps, but I can't find the truck size.
Can I get a little more help in locating one? thanks, Paul |

Re: Old school round tube front bumpers
Best bet is to talk to a welder/fabricator looking for work and show him what you want.

I don't think it would be too hard to fab one up. If you don't have the tools/time I would tke pyros suggestion.

Re: Old school round tube front bumpers
I bet you could have a local fab shop build one pretty cheap if you don't have a welder.
