newbie
hey guys, just recently i did alot of volunteer work and it earned me a 1967 chevy 1 ton dually. i dont have access to it right now but i was wondering what general information you could give me on it..its got a v8 and a manual tranny in the floor...i was hoping that maybe someone could tell me what motor it likely came with...also i wanted to know if anyone knew where some pictures of a dually with a stock bed might be..mine has a flat bed on it...thanks guys i really appreciate it and look forward to talking with all of you

 and  tackett67 from Ohio...if you look at the SPID sticker on the inside lid of your glove box it will have the info you seek. If the label isn't there hang on cause there will be others who are more familiar with your type of truck. Sounds like you have a neat truck.

First post! Welcome, from the state of Texas.
Did you get the truck free? I can't help you on what size of engine you would have in there since I have never see a 1967 one ton dually. Post some pics when you get a chance. |

well im 20 years old and i do volunteer work for my church..its my pastors truck and he doesnt know much about it because it was given to him a few years ago and he did nothing with it...he said that since i did all the work and love all vehicles i could just have it...the sticker isn't on the inside of the glovebox..the only reason i say its a 1 ton is i did a vin number search and it told me it was a 67 1 ton.....the vin starts with CE337f if im not mistaken ill have to have someone take a look for me...

It looks like a long wheelbase truck. I don't think the dually trucks came with regular beds until the next body style. (73 and newer) The fender is also 68 or newer with the marker light in it. I think 283 was standard, and 327 was optional for v-8s in 67. Looks like a decent truck in the pic. Eric

Could not get them with a bed,until '73if you do a search, Longhornmutt has one with a bed on it, it is in the for sale section. Looks great. I like the 67, would be a good start.

It is a one ton because it has dual rear wheels.
I am no expert but the engine could have been a 292 l6 or a 283 V-8 originally, but no telling what it has now. The floor shift transmission is most likely what is called a compound 4 speed with a very low first gear. Low or first gear is not used for normal driving. I have that type of transmission in my '67 swb stepper and my '71 lwb stepper. I am sure someone that knows more will soon chime in. Please post more pictures when you get a chance. There is an engine code just below the front of the passenger side head on V-8's. There is an engine code on a flat surface just behind the distributor on a l6. Post the number and some one on here can decode it for you. Enjoy your truck. Danny
