Need some Help w/a carb

I just bought a 600cfm 1405 edelbrock for my 73 off ebay. I'm not sure if im missing some parts or whats going on cause there are two cables coming out of the fire wall (sry, 1st project not sure what they are called) the one on top is connected to the carb fine but the one one bottom (i think its the accelerator cable) has nothing to connect to and is not holding tension when i tried to ghetto rig it. Are there any pictorals on how to do this online? Edelbrock's manual sucks and doesnt help much. thnks

Re: Need some Help w/a carb

Is it possible that the second cable could be a manual choke? What carb did you take off the truck previously before you replace with the edelbrock? Too my knowledge the only cable coming from the firewall to the carb is the throttle that connects to the pedal. Depending on if you bought a 1405 with an electric choke, you may not need the second cable.

That is the throttle valve cable for the trans. You can buy a stud kit to to hook it up to the lower hole on the throttle lever. I you leave it unhooked the transmission will not shift right. I think the little linkage kit is about 15 bux. You can get one from Advance Auto Parts.
