Changing Lugs on 72'

I want to put larger lugs on my 72' 4x4. I am putting 9/16" lugs, question is what size drill bit do i use to drill the rotors and hub? i drilled with 9/16 bit and still to small and 5/8 is to big? i thought someone may know qickly before i screw something up.

I did this to mine because that was the size of the lug in the rear end I got (14 bolt sf) and wanted all the same...ended up taking to a machine shop. I couldn't find a lug that had the correct size knurl/length that would be easy so good job for them on a lathe.

Most 5/8 studs will require a 43/64ths drill bit.

I went with a 9/16 lug and i think it took a 19/32 drill bit for the hub and one slightly larger for the rotor and it worked good. But for sure they were two different sizes!!! Thanks for the information.
