Edelbrock carb to manifold torque setting?
I took the carb off my truck to clean it thinking it was dirty when in fact it was fine, but I tore the gasket and have to replace it. Does anyone know the torque settings on the 4 bolts when I bolt the carb back on. I have an Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake and a 600 Performer carb. I just don't want to mess anything up. I think its between 25 and 30?? Anyone?

Does no answer mean everyone is still running Rochester 1 or 2 barrel carbs or was my question just really stupid? LOL

Thanks anyways. Hey, what are you running for a fuel pump on your set up? I have to replace mine and I think it will just be a stock pump for a 1970.

The service manual says 14 ft lbs. I always do the "little more than snug" thing though.

99.9% of all carbs i've worked on it's about imposible to get a torque wrench on them so i just go snug

I've never torqued a carb down and have always been fine with no leaks.

My experience is that when you go into aluminum, you shouldn't do anything over 15lbs. Make sure to use some anti-sieze, too.
