power steering gear seal replacement

Anyone ever replace the seals in their power steering gear box? 1972 C10 SWB, 350, 700R4.

Any pictures and info would be great.

Not to put a damper on your efforts but I hear its a PITA, have you checked around for another? Boneyard, parts house, etc? Mine leaked like a sieve I found a guy with a stash of parts offered him $20 bucks and lucked out I guess, I hear tearing into them can get rough, no firsthand experience tho....

Ive done a lot of them & they never seemed hard. You dont have to completely tear it down. If you get ready to do it let me know & i will give step by step as best I can. georgec2434@yahoo.com

Which seal are you talking about? The one that the steering shaft attaches to (input shaft), or the pitman arm seal? I have done both and it is not that difficult. You can get the parts at advance auto.
