center consol? pics
does anyone have a "center console" that they built or bought that fits in the space that is between the seat and the cigarette tray? that fits on the hump? preferably with a bench seat. Ive been thinking about building something like that. just cant quite figure out how to do it. maybe someone has done it and can give me an ideas. thanks! Matt

I haven't built one but if I did I would use cardboard as a template for the tranny hump. Then you have to just figure out what kind of material to use. Diamond plate might be cool.

Re: center consol? pics
hmm, what Ive been thinking about doing is building it up some so its just below the seat. and maybe putting the radio in it and maybe down the road, a CB. then a couple cup holders and some "crap" pockets.

center consol? pics
Here's a couple from my files. I'm going to keep the bench seat, but add a console. Hope this gives you some ideas.
Also, check out www.classictruckconsoles.com They have fiberglass consoles of all types for trucks. Included pics from them as well that are for a 73-87 Chevy. Finally, I know there have been other threads w/ pics regarding consoles as well. Bench seat or buckets... love the steering wheel in the 1st one! |

Re: center consol? pics
that does give me some ideas.. Thanks guys!!!... I did do a search, but I must not have put in the right key words. I didn't come up with much that pertained to what I was looking for. Thanks! I'll try mocking it up in cardboard first.
