SBC Intake Bolt ?
Going to replace my intake.I read where arp bolts are shorter than they use to make. That you should use BBC intake bolts because they are longer.SBC is 1.00 and BBC are 1.25.Its a performer eps. What do yall think.

Re: SBC Intake Bolt ?
I called ARP last year and was told the SBC bolts are what you need for the aftermarket intakes but I remember a board member had problems and switched to the longer BBC bolts with no problems.

Re: SBC Intake Bolt ?
Especially with aftermarket intakes and heads, you need to pay attention to the bolts that line up with a couple of the pushrods. If you use too LONG of a bolt you will make contact and bend or rub the pushrod. Especially in aftermarket heads where they have shifted the valve / rocker/pushrod placement to make bigger intake ports this can be a serious ugly. The two end bolts are blind holes (meaning they are not a 'through hole' with threads all the way through a hole) The threads will not go 100% to the bottom of the hole in that boss cast at the end of the heads. Just make sure your bolt is the right length to have plenty of thread contact, but not bottom in the hole. Your particular intake gasket material, and intake flange thickness will be different than the stock setup so like cdowns said you really need to just measure what you need for each bolt to get it 100% right.
