Re: what did you get done mothers day edition 5/10/09

Busy weekend for me. I got up early Saturday morning and drove to San Antonio. My nephew graduated from Hallmark with a degree in Airframe Technology and Powerplant Technology. Not long ago he couldn't pronounce Aeronautics Technician, now he is one. I had lunch with him and the family then drove home.

Today I was up early again working with my yard crew. We spent all day cleaning up a months worth of Spring growth. I made a trip to the local wholesale nursery and brought back a truck load of flowers. One more trip netted me a 65 gallon Queen palm. Paid cash and got a hundred dollar discount. After spreading 5 yards of mulch we called it a day.

This evening, I showered and went to Mom-In-Laws house for a Mothers day dinner. Busy weekend...

Re: what did you get done mothers day edition 5/10/09

I spent all day Sat rubbing the paint out (will put a pic up Mon) on my 84, jacked it up went end to end greasing the chassis, checking things over and cleaned out the interior and polished the wheels. She still needs some parts but it's making progress. Today/Sun I cleaned the whole house ( feel free to laugh..), got the propane tank filled for the BBQ had our parents over and celebrated Mom's Day.

Re: what did you get done mothers day edition 5/10/09

well Saturday was my 24th B-day. so my girl had me for most of the day. she surprised me with a nice car and ferries ride. and she got me a $40 gift card to Shucks Auto and a nice lunch. then on the way back to home we went to the snohomish vally airfield to watch a friend of mine sky dive. that was cool. then we went back home and my mom made me spaghetti *my favorite* and a devils food cake with chocolate frosting. all was Really good. Then they surprised me with my very first set of RED TOOL BOXES!!! SWEET! also my sister and family is giving me a Ridged 6inch grinder. on top of all that I managed to pull my back at one point during the day. LOL made me feel old for sure LOL.

Sunday my sister and family came by to see our mom and me before they went to the zoo. and gave my mom her mothers day gift. they made one with pics of all the kids. it was Very nice. then me and mom and dad went to lows to get my mom some herbs and flowers and such. so me and mom spent some time planting them. then I made her dinner, Grilled steaks. which she loved.... and my back is a little worse today. I had a awesome weekend!!!

Started plumbing some 1/4" steel line for a fuel return setup. I've been getting vapor lock on some recent hot days. Next Saturday I'll be replacing the current 2 outlet tank sending units with the 3 outlet models.I'm hoping I can loosen the bed and slide it back about 6" and replace the senders without having to drop the tanks.

Cleaned all the crap(beer cans) that seems to get tossed in the bed when it sits over the winter. Put fresh tank of fuel and drove her for the first time this year, about 10 miles. Then I went on internet to find rockers and cab corners for the ol girl. Still cant make up my mind on brand of rust repair panels!!!! arrrg!!

Got plates on the diesel. Drove it to town and back, about 15 miles. the air still works! need to inflate the tires, gonna do 20 miles on it tonight, the try the 70 mile work route tomorrow. With gas $.20 higher than diesel it makes sense to drive it now.

Oh, and put bricks under my new parts shed. Next is the brick floor and shelves and then I can move in my parts and reclaim my garage.

He is awesome! I was listening to him on the way to work this morning. He discribes himself in a song of his, as being somewhere between Jennings & Jones. Country fans will know the refference.

The whole family went to luch at a local pizza joint. Took my wife to the store to buy a new printer for the computer. And got some last couple things ordered for The Toybox.

Re: what did you get done mothers day edition 5/10/09

Replaced aging water pump - with a brand new Delco pump. Discovered that Delco moved alternator mounting boss about 0.5" back toward engine. Aghh - had to fab a spacer out of 3/8" mild steel tubing stock to make proper installation. Amazingly, original water pump lasted this long (based on water pump casting date code).

Helped my father-n-law work on my brother-in-laws 04 Chevy Classic. Looks like I will be working on it again tonight...

Other than that I worked and relaxed a bit. I have a load of things to do to my Jeep, but am lacking the funds at the moment.

I've seen him twice in concert. Great sound, great music. I painted my calipers, rotors and spindles Friday night. I'll put them on later this week(ordered ball joints for it). I spent Saturday getting parts for the Chevy II and attending local car shows. Spent Sunday with family. Great weekend.
