Is there a difference between the hood latch/radiator fill panel from 47-53 and 54-55.1? I have a 51 Chevy, and have come across a latch advertised as being from a 54. Can anyone confirm if this will or will not work? I'm not concerned about "being correct," just functionality.

dont think it will work. the hood latch on 48-53 is flat and hood latch on 54-55 1st is on an angle.

I don't think it will work. If you can't find one locally pm me as I have several good ones and all it will cost you is the shipping and an interesting trade.
No rust and no dings or cracks and I'll send you photos first.

In my experience there is very little difference between the two radiator shrouds. The 54-55.1 shrouds have wire clips riveted to the back side. The only difference in the hood latches themselves is the actuating arm. Both will work.
