Ceiling material
Does anyone know what that ceiling material that the headliner is glued to is made out of?

most of the gm ones are made out of styrofoam,, you can make something out of 1/8" plywood or cardboard if you want

MOST headliners are glued to a light weight pressboard because you can steam and press it into any shape you would like..
it's like paper mache with wood chunks and glue... super cheap.. but it dosent last forever (lame)

Mine is OEM it is a yellow molded board but fibrous when broken.

yea mine was that same yellow material. Its a fiberglass type material with glue in it to body all the fabrics together. Very similar to wall insulation in consisitency, only tighter together fabrics I just recovered mine this weekend, so I am pretty certain what I was seeing. It would be fairly difficult to use a cardboard, or paper board type product to make one with, due to the contours of the roof. I would suggest trying to find a silverado at a junk yard where you could get some from and then re cover it.
