Brake Booster?

I got a big trip out to Pismo Beach coming up. The atrocity that are my front drum brakes are being addressed.

I want to buy a new brake booster. Since I am going to disc from 71-72 should I get the larger 10 3/4 brake booster or stay with the original 8 3/4.
And will the bigger 71-72 boster fit the bracket, and the master cylinder?

Thanks

Re: Brake Booster?

well gee Dtech I think you should use the 10 3/4 booster to accomodate the disc brakes. But I don;t know it will fit the 8 3/4 brake booster brackets and MS on your 69. Maybe some one else knows the answer to this question????

LOL

Re: Brake Booster?

The larger booster will fit if it is off of the C-20 trucks. Here is a picture of the C-20 truck booster mounted in a 71 C-10.

Re: Brake Booster?

Nice, just wondering if there are any special needs to change my master cylinder set up to a power brake booster, brackets, lines, or is it a simple fit?
What years will fit? Thanks

Re: Brake Booster?

i changed from manual drum to power drum using a booster from a 72 gmc

bolted right onto my firewall, i added a vacum line for the 'power' part, and used the brake pedel rod from the 72 also, and had to adjust the brake pedel light sensor thing, its a pita but can be done with patience and time lol
