Question about Hydroboost....

Are hydroboost power brakes or standard brakes? I assume they are power because of the 2 hoses coming off of the p/s pump and going to thingamabobber on the drivers side. I don't have a master cylinder either. Having trouble finding ss brake lines for my app. LMC doesn't seem to sell them, or ones that will fit. I recently ordered lines for a 2wd 1/2 ton thinking that they would...big mistake.

Re: Question about Hydroboost....

They are power assisted brakes. You have manual brakes which have no assist, power brakes which use vacuum to assist, and hydro-boost which uses hydraulic to assist.

Re: Question about Hydroboost....

The GM Hydraboost system was used primarily on 1 tons with gas and diesel engines. Hydraboost was also used on other model light trucks with diesel engines.

Re: Question about Hydroboost....

I have hydroboost on my 71 C10. I bought from ABS Power Brake. It came with stainless braided lines. They might have them for sale.http://67-72chevytrucks.com/gallery/...5&ppuser=24433

....well, I didn't get anything for a hydroboost system. Couldn't even tell you what is in the truck. Just looks like a hydroboost set up. What i DID do was order stainless steel lines for power brakes from LMC. and finding out they don't fit.....lovely.....

Re: Question about Hydroboost....

Also a correction, I don't have a brake booster. I originally said I didn't have a master cylinder...crazy.....
