chevy donor truck

I know where a 1994 chevy 3500 is sitting. It has a GM rebuilt automatic trans (1.5 years ago)and a 350 engine with 115,000 miles. I am thinking about making him an offer and using the engine, trans and transfer case in my 66. Also may use the seat and A/C system out of it too.

Any thoughts on this year running gear? Worth the swap?

Value?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: chevy donor truck

the t-case is a driver's side drop, you will need a ford front diff to use it as it sits stock...
you running 8 lug axles?

Re: chevy donor truck

There's nothing wrong with that drivetrain, it should be a good setup. As Joe said the TC will be a drivers drop. There is a TC that will interchange with that one that is a pass drop.....I just don't remember which one it is.....a 241 maybe? Are you going to keep the engine a TBI?

Re: chevy donor truck

Sounds like the transfer case may cause a good bit of headaches.

I am just looking to upgrade because the motor in my truck now needs rebuilt and if I rebuild the 94 it already has all of the belts/pullys and ac compressor ready to go.

I still have 8 lug axles.

I am in Middletown, between Frederick and Hagerstown. Where is Deale? I wouldnt mind seeing your GMC dash in person, mine has been chopped to hell by the PO.
