side fill (under bed) tank

hello all, when i get a gas tank for under the bed i want a side fill because i still use my truck as a truck(last weekend had 4500lbs of oak firewood in it) would be out of luck with a bed fill lol

any way i wanted to know if i could buy a stock blazer/burben filler hose/neck and use it? from the tank to the side of the bed?

thanks
Nate

Re: side fill (under bed) tank

I did just what you want to do to my 68 short wide bed. I bought the under the bed tank kit from LMC and I bought the behind the seat tank fill kit from Classic Industries for a 55-59 Pickup. I mounted the tank under the bed reinforcement which necessitated drilling holes in the frame. If I did it again I would modify the reinforcement so that I could mount the tank higher. I then installed the Classic kit to the tank and secured it to the bed of the truck. I can simply fill the tank now from under the fender behind the left rear tire. I can post pictures next week, or email them to you when I get home from vacation.
