my first time out wheeling

today after i got home from school i decided to take my 71 chevy out and do some 4wheeling around in the back 80 acres of my parents property
this is my first time 4 wheeling if you dont count mudding and my first time in the 71, and i was alone, so nothing to extreme but i had a blast
here are a couple pictures i took, and a few of my parents land that i was wheeling around

last year we held a good sized mud rally in the black dirt area at the bottom of the ravine, im still hoping ill get to have another one this summer, we back up the stream and it floods the bottom

That must be fun.Beautiful land there.Next time I want your truck to look like this (only bigger):

There was deep water involved or there would have been clumps of sod all over it.Call it a bath with muddy water .

Nate,

Those are some cool pics. That's some pretty land you have to "wheel" on.

Re: my first time out wheeling

thanks guys, it was probly some of the most fun i have had,
there are lots of little ravines that cant be seen from the pictures and most of them have big rock piles that would be awesome to crawl in, i really wanted to wheel around in a couple of the bigger ones but seeing as the 71 is stock aside from the wagon wheels and 31x10.50 i didnt wanna push the truck to hard, not to mention i dont think i woud be able to handle some of the terrain i have seeing as it was my first time doing this and i had nothing to pull the truck out with and no one there to help if anything happend
but maybe once i have a bit more experience and my 68 is finished i will give some of the spots a try, the 6 inch lift and the 33's or 35's that the 68 will be riding on will deffinately make it a bit easier

and special-k that picture looks like it was a fun day, reminds me of my mud truck, i just wish my mudder was a 67-72 instead of an 73-87
heres my mud truck a couple years ago
i snapped my front driveshaft earlier in the day, then the rear end shredded the teeth off the pinion leaving me stuck till i got a new front shaft in and limped him home

Re: my first time out wheeling

COOOLL!!!
Nothin`wrong with a 73-87.And...,I`ve had to leave a divorce case truck in a mud pit after twisting the intermediate shaft apart. The tube is only long enough for the yokes to butt,,,about 2-3",and it twistd like a sardine can opener.Had a great time doin`it,too! Layed under there, pulled it,had fixed, put it in,and finished wheeling my way out(sediment pond on a construction site).Whoever thinks deep mud is fun, raise your hand.

Re: my first time out wheeling

i think the challenge of fixin drivelines while stuck in the mud with a broken truck makes the experience even more fun
and i guess i best raise my hand to that
