350 sb in a 63 fleetside
My daughter has built a nice sb 350 to replace the stock V6 305 in her 63 GMC fleetside. Nobody seems able to tell us what we need as far as motor mounts or where we can get them. Can anybody help???
My daughter is in high school, and they need to get that truck out of the shop in the next two weeks. I am definitely just the dude with the money, no brains............ |

Dig thru the parts section here, or if you need to get it done go to aftermarket and get 'em shipped today. Check Performance online, CPP, or others. Almost all of the places carry some type of mount.

I used the rubber and metal brakets off a 71 chevy truck. Any auto parts store should have the rubber mount.

Re: 350 sb in a 63 fleetside
Your local parts store should be able to get you the motor mounts. Just ask for ones for a 283.....the 283 is a small block just like the 350 you have. If you are in need of the frame brackets, I have several sets. Let me know If you need a set I can get them sent out right away. I don't know if the V6 brackets are different than the V8 brackets or not. I'm not that familar with the V6's.

Re: 350 sb in a 63 fleetside
I just did this conversion on my '63 GMC. Using factory towers and mounts is super easy. There is one hole on each side that will need drilled, but that is it!

I would like to express my thanks to all of you who posted advice to me. Y'all rock!!! When we get that truck back up the hill, I'll post some pictures. No doubt I will be in need of some more advice as the project moves forward.
Thanks again!!!- Mark |
