Suburban Sunshine
Its going to be Sunrise and Sunset House of Colors Pearl over white, with a new GM ZZ502 and a built 700r4. I started this with just one goal of having a tow vehicle for my Camaros that my family could also drive when we got to "Cruisin The Coast" (Biloxi Ms.) and look where we are going now. It started as a 1971 3/4 ton small block, almost rust free. I striped it down and soda blasted everything in peices. Its coming back as a three seater with all new Painless wiring, Be Quiet sound deading/insulation, power everything, cruise, tilt, and new AC, etc. Its been fun, just wanted to share its progress with some who have similiar interest and appreciation.

Re: Suburban Sunshine
Looks like you're gonna have the perfect CTC tow vehicle. Love the Camaro too.

Re: Suburban Sunshine
Thanks guys for the positive feedback.
I love the houndstooth, but I am leaning to all leather in a yellow, or peanutbutter color. I have to make a decision, they go to cut & sew on the 15th. The door panels have been a challenge also, not alot of choices on the rear doors for a Sub. Started laying out the audio today, two twelves (all Kenwood) with a Custom Autsound head. Also ran fuel lines today and mounted up the edelbrock pump. Thanks again Rob |

Re: Suburban Sunshine
No fun stuff, but progress. Got the power steering pump painted and installed with new lines, headers on, rebuilt all the door hinges, got all the tracks and new regulators in the doors, new wiper motor painted and installed, all the "Be Quiet" sound deadning installed inside doors and every possible crack and cranny, got the Box built for the two 12" subs under middle seat. Media blasted and primed all seat tracks and hardware. Got the brake booster back from the rebuilder/refinisher today. Also got the leather ordered, going with yellow leather and orange carpet. Started on the rear interior panels, I am making them out of masonite and covering them with leather. I have decided to go with 72 panels and build some masonite inserts and cover them with leather with a matching pattern sewn in to match the seats and rear interior panels. I will get some pics up tomorrow. Just not a lot of real phtogenic kind of progress right now.

Re: Suburban Sunshine
Got a few things done the last couple weeks. The tracks for the pass seats were built out of 99 tahoe buckets, had section them on angle to get the correct recline angle and then plated them on the side to make them look stock appearing , but these are adjustable. Also got the fans, AC condenser, and tranny cooler mounted and plumbed. Also got the doors, hatch, and tailgate hung and adjusted. Got the original spare rim, and hub cap blasted and the original tire mounted back up.

Re: Suburban Sunshine
I got a lot done in the last month. Trying to get done for Cruising The Coast?!!?
Petty much finished up the wiring in the dash and got the wheel finished up (58 Impalla). Fired up the 502 for the first time yesterday. What an experience for me, my first brand new crate engine. Awesome with the straight headers. Started working on all the bugs now that its running. I should be painting this week for sure. |
